Justin Schmidt, RN

Registered Nurse

Justin is a registered nurse, father of four, and married for nearly ten years to his wife who is also a registered nurse. Justin began his education pursuing a bachelor’s degree in health administration. Shortly after he completed an accelerated bachelor’s degree of science in nursing at Cleveland State University.

Justin has several years of nursing experience, caring for a wide range of patients with multiple comorbidities. His experience includes working in a surgical intensive care unit, providing health care on cardiac step-down units, and assisting with clients on behavioral health units. In addition, he has over ten plus years of customer service working as an information technology manager.

His mission is to provide clients with a high quality of care, providing clients with positive health outcomes in conjunction with a trustful client – provider relationship.

He joins Winston Counseling this fall as an intern pursing his master’s degree of science in nursing. He has shifted his health care focus to concentrate in psychiatric mental health. Pursuing his degree at Kent State University, he is a compassionate provider who has a genuine interest in helping others and serve communities as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner.

When he is not studying, he enjoys going on bike rides with his four children. He is an avid runner and spent the summer at the pool continuing to teach his children how to swim. Understanding the importance of exercise, nutrition and sleep, he promotes these basic concepts as holistic methods for mental health treatment. His goal this fall is to develop a better understanding of children and adolescent mental health disorders and grow his skills in providing treatment.
